A morning down the deeps today with neap tides and no wind. Straight from the off I was into whiting to rag bait, and then the dogs turned up on sandeel baits! Practically fish a cast up to HW - then a lull. Most of the whiting were only pins though.
An hour or so after HW - the ratchet started clicing, indicating a fish had picked up the bait and was moving down tide. I struck into a heavy fish that could only be a decent ray, but unfortunately my line snapped mid fight - it had probably chaffed against Swansea pier on Monday! Never mind -next time.Saw one eel of 10lb+ landed off the furthest ledge.
