2013 so far.......

Feb, March & April - Cefn Sidan
Nets and no fish - 1 school bass and 2 flounder between 3 of us in 6 trips.

May '13

CSSC shore qualifier - Aberavon beach
3 flounder for me, and no qualification spot.  Over 20 anglers fishing and not a single bass caught.

Danglers bank and reef trip
Quite a lumpy one early on - Dabs, dogs, grey gurnards, pollack, plaice and a cuckoo wrasse for me - herring and ballan wrasse also caught to the boat - no turbot though.

CSSC boat qualifier - Anchorman 3 (Penarth)
Spurs still about!  Not as many hounds as previous years either.
Common and starry smoothound, lsd, conger and spurdogs for me.  Spotted, blonde, smalleyed and thornback rays, whiting to the boat.  Qualified in 2nd place.

Back on track?

After some time out following the birth of my son (now 13 months old and busy busy busy!) - I think it's probably time to get back on track with some fishing.

Summary of the last 2 years:

Species '11 - 33
Species '12 - 32

Highlights of 2011 - didn't really fish enough for any highlights - but lots of planned trips 'blown off'.

Highlights of 2012 -
Winning both CSSC and RCSL national boat events!
Landing my 2nd ever john dory.

After fishing a few times in 2013 - I think it's time to get the species hunt back on track.
